GRADUATE ORGANIZATION

Email: ago@binghamton.edu

Selecting a graduate program for an advanced degree is always difficult. You are confronted with a daunting range of variables that go beyond the hefty costs of a graduate education. The nature of the faculty, curriculum and student support networks are also important factors in selecting a program. In this vein, the Anthropology Graduate Organization would like to offer its services to you.

If you are considering our department at Binghamton University (State University of New York) for your graduate studies and want behind the scenes information or if would you just like to chat with some frazzled graduate students, please donþt hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

The AGO is the backbone and support system of the graduate students in our department. We are an organization which supports and represents all graduate students in the Anthropology program at Binghamton University (State University of New York) in departmental and campus-wide affairs. AGO meetings provide a forum to discuss issues that concern us as students. These include: curriculum selection, departmental affairs, discussion groups, and social gatherings. In the past, the AGO has been an important part of negotiations in bringing new faculty to the department as well as distributing departmental resources.  In addition to advocating anthropology graduate student rights and concerns, the AGO seeks to increase the interaction of students and faculty across the sub-disciplines through academic and social functions.

If you are interested in our programs and would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact our current students. Listed below are field-specific contacts, however, if you would like to send general questions and comments, please direct them to:
