(LLB University of Ein Shams; PhD Michigan State University 1971), Associate Professor of Anthropology, a sociocultural anthropologist who has worked among pastoralists in the Egyptian Western Desert and among urban groups in Cairo and Alexandria. Her current research interests include law and conflict, women and work, and the political economy of Egyptian development.
