Research Interests

My current research interests are converging around my training in medical anthropology, geography and environmental studies. As a result, my research program focuses on understanding how the combination of biogeophysical processes, cultural (behavioral) patterns, and socioeconomic structures influence health and disease at both the individual and community levels. Extensive research in medical anthropology, geography and environmental health, including my own four-year multidisciplinary study in the Dominican Republic, has prepared me for a research and academic career in applied healthcare studies.
