ANTHROPOLOGY ADVISING Students are not assigned a formal advisor within the Department; members of the Undergraduate Committee (see listing in the Department office for current membership) and the Director of Undergraduate Studies are available to meet with you regarding your choice of a major, course selections and career planning. Faculty members who do not currently serve on the Undergraduate Committee are also available for student advising. We encourage you to seek advising from faculty members that you've come to know through coursework or participation in a research project. When to see the Director of Undergraduate Studies: We encourage every newly declared major to come and meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies. The Undergraduate Director can offer general advising, or you may seek advice from other faculty members. You should see the Undergraduate Director if you have a problem with your DARS printout, need an exception form filled, or petition signed. Please note that this information is not intended as a substitute for advising. Be certain to meet with an advisor in the Anthropology Department throughout your career at Binghamton.
